DID YOU KNOW ... ADOA is very active in the education of the general public, Federal, State and Local Officials, and the Dog Fancy? ADOA offers the following: NEWSLETTERS -- Published bi-monthly for Members. Interesting and educational with current information. SEMINARS -- Open to all (no charge). Educational and informative. Organized and promoted by ADOA for you. Some past topics include: Air Shipment of Dogs; The Law and You; Research on the Canine; Constitutional Due Process Questions Raised by Anti-Breed Legislation; Canine Eye Disease; Genetic Diseases; Semen Bank; Animal-Human Bond; Dogs for the Handicapped; and Training and Work of Police Dogs. SPEAKERS -- provided for your Club or group at no charge. ADOA only requests that other Clubs in the area be invited to attend. This is often a great opportunity to exchange ideas with other Clubs or groups in your area. Simply contact ADOA. JACKET PATCHES, PEDIGREE FORMS, CAR DECALS, and ENVELOPE SEALS. "How to Respond to Anti-Dog Enforcement" -- Brief guide to your rights. How to handle an official demanding to investigate your property, how to handle phone inquiries or threats, etc. "Selecting the Right Puppy" -- Suggestions on how to select the right puppy for you, what to look for, initial care and feeding, etc. "Training and Housbreaking Your Puppy" -- Gives suggestions on training, chewing, barking, housebreaking, etc. " "Why Buy from a Responsible Breeder" -- Definition of, and tips on finding, a responsible breeder. Wallet cards: "Why Leash Your Dog" for general use and "Need a Few Good Reasons to Leash Your Dog?" for wilderness use. Both developed with the U. S. Forest Service and the U. S. Park Service.
